Obituary of Michael Victor Iannandrea

Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Welland Hospital in his 80th year.

He was the cherished husband for 54 years of Faith (nee Shank) and the much loved father of Victor (Susan), David (Julia) and Laura (Jason) Molenaar. Dear Nonno of Victoria (Ryan) Bateman, John, Michelle, Faith, Brianna, Aidan and Deana Iannandrea, and Noah and Emma Molenaar.

He will be missed by his sister in law Lynda Iannandrea, members of the Carmichael family and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Emilio and Clelia Iannandrea, brother Italo Iannandrea and Edith and Harold Shank.

Michael was born on Oratino, Italy in 1939. He was proud of his origins in Oratino and founded the publication “Messaggero Oratinese” which allowed families to keep up to date on news from home.

He was a member of Casa Dante as well as a founding member of the Port Colborne Bocce Club.

The family extends sincere thanks to the Emergency Department staff of the Welland Hospital for their efforts and care.

Michael’s family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Sunday, March 10 from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m.  Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday March 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter Walton as celebrant. Rite of Committal following at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Port Colborne.
