Obituary of Simon Belanger
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on March 13, 2021 at the Port Colborne Hospital in his 79th year. He is reunited with his loving wife Lina (2009). Loving Father of Ron (Kim) and Ray (Kelly), cherished Pépère to Raymond, Sarah, James and Johnathon and Great Grandfather to Mia, Macie and Seth. He will be sadly missed by his sister Louise (Roger) Beaudoin, his loving friend and companion Janice Labbé, many brothers and sisters in law and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Eugène and Thérèse, brother Jacques, nephew Yvon, father in law Hermenegilde, mother in law Marthe Lemay and many brothers and sisters in law. Dad was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Whenever anyone needed his help for anything he would not hesitate to help. He was very handy…a jack of all trades. There was nothing he could not do or fix. He was also very hard working and reliable. He had many years of service throughout the years with Wabasso, INCO, Ford and ultimately finishing at GM. After retiring, he was very active with the Knights of Columbus, volunteering every Friday at the Breakfast Counter at the Guild Hall in Port Colborne, as well as the Pelham Panthers Jr. B’s. He was also very proud to work at the Armstrong Funeral Home for many years. The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Scher, the entire staff at the Port Colborne Hospital, as well as the 6th floor nursing staff of the Welland Hospital for their incredible care and compassion. He will be sadly missed….Love you Dad. Give Mom a hug for us. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
